2023 PRICE LIST OF SERVICES - JAMES E. BURKE, P.E.

    James E. Burke, P.E. is a small business that provides Engineering and Technical Services required for the design and regulatory approval of Residential and Commercial onsite septic systems. This includes both new construction and replacement system design for existing septic systems, as well as related services (see list below). All types of systems are designed for these properties including subsurface conventional systems and above ground fill as well as other alternative systems. The rates for conducting and observing the necessary soils testing, and related design are given below:

    PLEASE NOTE THE FIRST HOUR AT A SITE FOR CONSULTATION ON DESIGN OF A SEPTIC SYSTEM, OR ANY SERVICE LISTED ON THIS PAGE IS FREE. UPON GENERAL AGREEMENT OF DESIGN APPROACH OR OTHER WORK ITEM, THE FOLLOWING CHARGES WILL APPLY:

    1. SOIL PERCOLATION TESTS - STANDARD 3-4 HOLE TEST AT ONE LOCATION - $200
      • ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS WITH HOLES DUG IN THAT AREA - $50/HOLE

    2. SIX (6) FOOT DEEP SOIL CUT - OBSERVE SOIL, GROUNDWATER AND BEDROCK CONDITIONS TO 6' DEPTH -
      SOIL CUT TO BE DUG BY OTHERS - $150

    3. DESIGN OF SEPTIC SYSTEMS-
      • CONVENTIONAL IN GROUND TRENCH WITH PIPE/STONE OR CHAMBERS - $550
      • CONVENTIONAL SHALLOW OR DEEP ABSORPTION TRENCH SYSTEM - $650
      • ALTERNATIVESYSTEMS - MOUND, RAISED SYSTEM, BOTTOMLESS AND STANDARD SAND FILTERS, ENHANCED TREATMENT UNITS - (ADVANCED TREATMENT ACCOMPLISHED IN SEPTIC TANK) - $850

    OTHER SERVICES INCLUDE:

    1. DYE TESTS: Perform evaluation of existing septic systems for property sale - Dye tests, calculate sizing/location of existing systems, provide professional opinion of performance of septic system - $200

    2. WATER WELL FLOW RATE: Perform evaluation of drinking water well flow rate for property sales determine approximate, sustained flow of water in gallons/minute for two hour period for property sales - $200

    3. PUBLIC SEWER CONNECTION: New and existing buildings - determine feasibility of connection distance of pipeline, routing through public and private properties, coordinate with involved agencies, prepare plan for connection, approximate costs.

    Please note that County health departments, as well as the Town where project is located, have applications and regulatory fees for review and inspection of design of residential and commercial septic systems.
